River Rafting – Looking for an adrenaline rush? Take your pick from Class II / III / IV rapids, great swimming holes and dense primary jungle on the mountainous Savegre River, or thrill-producing Class III / IV rapids on the steep drop of the Naranjo River from the mountains to a beautiful jungle gorge and sea level palm plantations.

Ocean Kayaking – For a close-up view of shoreline caves, pre-Colombian inscriptions, and islands teeming with exotic bird life, book an ocean kayaking tour along the coast of Manuel Antonio. Follow the rugged coastline from Quepos to Manuel Antonio National Park, visit remote Blesanz Bay, surf kayak at Espadilla beach, or navigate the calm water inlets of Damas Island.

Snorkeling – Warm waters, spectacular coral reefs, a cornucopia of tropical sea life—the marine waters of Manuel Antonio offer premium snorkeling opportunities. Equipment rental and professional guiding available.

Scuba Diving – Favoured by master diver and marine explorer Jacques Cousteau, Costa Rican waters offer some the best scuba diving in the world. At Cano Island, about two hours from Manuel Antonio, chances are good that you’ll see porpoises, manta rays and white-tip reef sharks. PADI divemasters and course instruction available, including entry level diving.

Surfing – Count on great waves—the waters of Manuel Antonio are a surfer’s paradise! We can arrange surfing lessons and equipment rental.

Sport Fishing – Offshore angling or inshore flyfishing—the choice is yours at one of the world’s most famous fishing destinations. Marlin, sailfish, tuna, wahoo and dorado await marine anglers, guided by experienced captains with well-equipped boats. The second largest mangrove system on Central America’s Pacific coast offers up roosterfish, snook, snapper and sea bass.

Sunset Sails – There’s only thing better than watching Manuel Antonio sunsets: sailing into them! Drink in the evening’s beauty, while you sip a glass of wine and cruise the Costa Rican coastline. During your 4-hour tour, you’re likely to see dolphins, sea turtles, and flying fish.

Dolphin Watch Tour – See dolphins, whales and sea turtles as you explore the Quepos-Manuel Antonio coast in a Zodiac-style inflatable boat. Stop for swimming, snorkeling (and snacking!) on beautiful Biesanz Beach.

Canopy/Zip-Line Tours – A Costa Rican must!!! See the forest canopy as the birds do—from sturdy platforms high above the jungle. Professional, safety-conscious canopy guides lead the way. For added “zip,” and genuine adventure, ride the zip-line from platform to platform. You’ll be grinning like a monkey!

Suspension Bridge Tours – Follow a series of suspension bridges, connected by sturdy platforms, high above a river canyon. Certified naturalists interpret the tropical flora and fauna below. Your tour leads you to a series of waterfalls, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip!

Horseback Riding –The most natural, peaceful way to experience the beaches, jungle trails, rivers, waterfalls and mountain views of Manuel Antonio. Guided horseback tours depart from several Manuel Antonio locations.

Waterfall Tours – Manuel Antonio in its most earthy, elemental beauty: stroll, hike, or ride a horse, to nearby jungle waterfalls. Pack your bathing suit and snorkeling gear for added joy!

ATV Tours – Splash through rivers, cross suspension bridges over roaring mountain streams, stop to cool off in mountain waterfalls and water holes—this is the adventure expedition of a lifetime!

Bird Watching – If you’re a dedicated birder, you already know that Costa Rica offers some of the world’s best bird watching. If you’re a casual observer, you’re about to discover the beauty of exotic Toucans and brilliant Scarlet Macaws. Book an experienced field guide who knows the area, the birds, and their calls—prepare to be amazed!

Manuel Antonio Park – The jewel of Manuel Antonio, a natural treasure-trove of tropical wildlife. Over 100 species of animals and nearly 200 species of birds thrive in this lush protected area, including Costa Rica’s famous monkey trio: the white-throated capuchin monkey, the endangered squirrel monkey, and the white-faced monkey. Look for sloths, iguanas, and a wide variety of exotic birds. Pack your bathing suit and snorkeling gear and enjoy the warm waters of the Park’s Playa Blanca beach. In the Park’s twelve islets, just off the coast, it is possible to see dolphins and migrating whales. Scheduling tip: Plan your visit for Tues. – Friday weekday mornings, as the number of visitors to the Park is limited. The Park is closed on Mondays.

Carara National Park – Biodiversity at its best! Less than two hours away, this 4700-hectare park is the northern-most tropical wet forest on the Pacific Coast. Hike with your naturalist guide through the reserve, and admire views of surrounding rice fields, palm plantations and cattle ranches. Crocodiles can often be spotted in the nearby Rio Tarcoles!
